President’s Message

The members of the Polish Gymnastic Association Sokol Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada begin the second century of the organizations existence with pride and enthusiasm.

Our organization has been setting an example of concord and unity for a number of years through tradition, sport, dance and its desire to strengthen the Polish community in Winnipeg and around the world.

We hope to entice the youth to be more involved within the organization, as they are the future of Sokol.  They have the opportunity to preserve the Polish culture and help it grow so that it will continue to be a prevalent part of Manitoba.

The purpose of Sokol is to promote the growth of Polish culture, maintain the Polish language, to celebrate our national holidays, and to pay tribute to those who gave their lives for Sokol and Poland.

Overall, Sokol’s goal is to create an atmosphere where we can depend on one another within the Polish community.  A community where we can share our successes and work through our differences so that we may become stronger together.
